Plenty of plumbers say upfront pricing. Fewer explain what it means when the job goes sideways. Here is how we handle it, in plain terms.
Flat rate, not hourly
We quote the job, not the clock. Before any work starts you get a clear price for the work in front of you, and you decide whether to go ahead. There is no meter running while we work and no wondering what the number will be when we pack up.
Why that protects you and not us
If the job takes longer than we expected, that is our problem and not your invoice. We carry the risk of our own estimate. That is the deal, and it is the reason we take the time to look properly before quoting.
What happens if we find something else
Sometimes we open something up and find a genuinely different problem underneath. When that happens we stop and talk to you before doing anything else. You will never get a bill for work you did not approve.
What makes a price vary
Access, home size, and the condition of what is already there. A straightforward swap in an open basement is not the same job as the same swap in a tight crawlspace with corroded fittings. We price what is actually in front of us.
What we will not do
We do not publish a rate sheet, because a number without your house attached to it is a guess. We also do not quote over the phone and then revise on arrival. If we can give you a number on the phone we will, and if we cannot we will tell you why.
